I'm a newbie. Where can I find more information about the game?

    • You can find information on the website's main page in the About section.

    What is the game about?

    • Corepunk is an isometric, open-world MMORPG that seamlessly blends elements of MMORPGs, MOBAs, and ARPGs. Set in a rich, atmospheric world shrouded in fog of war, it offers a unique gameplay experience with MOBA-style combat mechanics. The game is built around an open, seamless world, character development, and progression through leaderboards in both PvE and PvP session-based game modes, such as PvE/PvP extraction instances, PvE party and solo instances, and battlegrounds.

What is the business model for Corepunk?

    • We’ve settled on a buy-to-play model with an in-game cosmetics shop. We will not sell any boosters or anything that can affect your gameplay. Only cosmetic items can be bought through the in-game shop.

    What is the game's style?

    • An eclectic and immersive visual style combining steampunk, dieselpunk, manapunk, cyberpunk, fantasy, and more. The world is handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, creating an atmosphere that players will want to lose themselves in.

    Who developed Corepunk?

    • Corepunk is being developed by the independent studio Artificial Core.

What controls are used in Corepunk?

    • Movement in the game is controlled by a mouse, and all abilities require the use of a keyboard.

How do you deal with players who violate the rules of the game?

    • We understand the importance of fairness and how dishonest players can ruin your gaming experience. We will prohibit such behavior in the game. Offenders will be strictly punished and may even be permanently banned if needed.

What does combat in Corepunk look like?

    • MOBA-Style Combat: Fast-paced, skill-based combat that feels responsive and satisfying, featuring tactical elements made possible by fog of war and the surrounding environment.

Will there be standard roles in the game like tank, support, healer, and DPS?

    • Yes, the game will have standard archetypes: tank, support, healer, and DPS, as well as variations in between. It's all up to the player's choice. Our game design allows for very flexible character customization for any playing style and role. A wide variety of builds is one of the key features of our game.

What stage of development is the game at now?

    • The game is currently in late-stage alpha testing. Early Access will start on November 26, 2024.

Where can I get information about game development?

    • On our website, Discord, and forum. Also, if you are registered, you will receive our newsletter.

    Beta Test

When will the Beta test start?

    • The Beta test will start a couple of months before the full release of the game, which is expected by the end of 2025.

    PvE

Are there a lot of opportunities for character development?

    • As a player, you have a set of characters to choose from. Each character has three weapon specializations to choose from. Each weapon specialization has a unique set of abilities and a unique gaming style. Additionally, all characters have ten general branches of passive talents from which a player can pick three, combining them as desired. The game offers interesting itemization via a system of artifacts that will strengthen any combination of weapon specialization and passive talents. A player can acquire new abilities through artifacts.

What types of PvE are planned to be in the game?

    • PvE will include dungeons for solo players and groups of up to four people, randomly generated dungeons, raids, minibosses, world bosses, wandering bosses, and a camp system with advanced open-world AI that will challenge players. Most importantly, we're focusing on the experience of exploring a highly elaborate and detailed world.

Will the game have mountable animals?

    • Yes, the game will have mounts, which will help you explore our vast world.

What classes will be available in Corepunk?

    • When starting Corepunk, you'll be able to select from a list of heroes. Initially, heroes aren't assigned a class archetype, but each hero has a slight inclination toward a particular archetype. For example, you'll be able to build a tank out of a delicate female character.

How does the crafting and trade system work?

    • The game includes crafting, gathering, and later at full release, social professions. With the crafting professions, a player will be able to craft artifacts, weapons, chips, runes, consumables, and more, create missing items, and strengthen their artifacts. The social professions will be aimed at interacting with players. For all types of professions, we plan to introduce a rating system that will allow you to become, for instance, the finest smith in our world.

    Will the game include farming?

    • Yes. We will present content related to this aspect of the game at a later time.

Will the game offer things to do for those who like to play alone?

    • The game is designed so that each player can decide for themselves what suits them best—to play solo or in a group. Virtually everything in the game can be experienced by a solo player, except for raid content and world bosses. Our vast, seamless world will allow you to get lost in the wild and avoid other players altogether if you so desire. You can absolutely attain the same item levels and character development playing solo. It's important to note that solo players will always face bigger challenges and will never be as effective as in a group.

How does the guild system work in the game?

    • The game will have guilds. We will present content related to guilds at a later time.

How do I level up — by completing quests or by grinding?

    • You can level up by completing quests, crafting, and killing mobs.

What types of professions will there be in Corepunk?

    • We'll have four crafting professions: Weaponsmith, Constructor, Alchemist, Mystic; four gathering professions: Butchering, Herbalism, Miner, Logging; and two secondary professions: Fishing and Cooking.

Will there be a level limit in the game?

    • Currently, levels are planned to be capped at 20.

    PvP

What PvP types are available in Corepunk?

    • For the PvP-inclined players, there will be Open World PvP, Arenas, Battlegrounds, and Extraction Instances (high risk equals high reward). Furthermore, PvP in an open world combined with fog of war will provide a completely new gaming experience.

What do I lose when I die?

    • It depends on the zone you are in; different zones have different PvP rules.

How do I turn on PvP?

    • You can switch into and out of PvP mode by pressing the corresponding button.

    What is the Karma system?

    • When killing a player in certain zones, you'll receive Karma Points. The amount of points awarded will depend on the difference between your level and equipment and that of the defeated player. Upon reaching a certain level of Karma Points, the player can receive criminal status. Player Killers (criminals) are forbidden from entering regular cities and towns, and upon dying, they lose all artifacts and weapons from their slots. We would like to point out that for killing even one low-level player, you will get a substantial amount of Karma Points. You will be able to lower your Karma Points by completing various tasks and killing mobs.
